About 900 people converged on Interstate 70 in St. Louis yesterday, calling for more highway-construction jobs for minority workers and contractors. The protest stopped traffic for an hour, and about 200 people, including the leader of the protest, the Rev. Al Sharpton, were arrested. (Associated Press.
