Dear Minority Contractors:
I thought you might find of interest something that was reported about Mr. I.E. Millstone, the founder of Millstone-Bangert who recently passed, in the New York Times this week: "At Millstone Construction... Mr. Millstone earned a reputation for his support of civil rights, refusing to sign some contracts unless uinons admitted African-Americans. In the 1940s and 1950s, he started vocational schools for black men to become skilled tradesemen eligible for jobs and bricklayers, plumbers and welders." Millstone-Bangert's commitment to inclusion apparently runs deep. We need many more I.E. Millstones.
